This celebration honors: The fulfillment of Andal’s promise to the Lord, later upheld by Acharya Ramanuja. The pasuram in which Andal expresses her desire for unification with the Divine. It is believed that participation in this Utsavam can bless those seeking marriage with a suitable match and those desiring children with progeny, as well as bestow blessings for education, employment, and overall well-being.

Celebrating Sita Rama Kalyanam is  a tradition where the utsava murti of Lord Rama and Sita Devi are brought forth in a procession and their marriage is performed as between a bride and bridegroom .
